which fuel pressure gauge?

I'll be getting gauges here shortly, and decided to get a fuel pressure before I get a trans temp, as my truck is still stock(after I mod the trans, and front end, the power mods will come)

What are the pros and cons of a mechanical vice an electronic fuel pressure gauge?

Thanks

I'd personally go with a mechanical gauge, since I have had some bad experience with fuel electronic gauge, it always seems to be more sensitive every time I get a pulsation from the Vp the gauge bounces around. I tried every thing from a needle valve to a snubbler hose nothing fixed it.

The trick for an electric gauge is either a snubber or needle valve and combined with 2-4 feet of hose with a giant air bubble. If there's a large enough air bubble it'll dampen the pulsation. I personally use a cheap Glowshift fuel pressure gauge with a torktek snubber and 3 feet of hose, no pulsation issue and never had an issue.

Can you dumb that down a little for me? I don't know what the Vp is or why the gauge being momentarily more sensitive would be a bad thing?

Pretty much a VP is an electronic injection pump mostly in 98.5 - 02 models. For the electric fuel pressure gauge for an example the fuel pressure starts from 15 psi then when your driving it should go down but the gauge likes to bounce around and not give a steady reading.

Get a tork tek snubber, about 2-3 feet of diesel rated hose, mount the sending unit on the fender or fire wall and you'll be fine. Mine does not bounce whatsoever. Don't bleed the hose, leave the air in it, it will automatically prevent previously mentioned spikes.

I would of used a tork tek snubbler but my Fass fuel line is connected directly to the injection pump.

Then just put a T in the line if you have room.
