94 dodge 5speed

looking at buying a good truck for work the guy wants 3000 its an ole beater but runs good and drives good needs body work and a few odds and ends completely stock it has a brand new p pump on it i really dont know much about the pumps,just wondering on the fuel plate deals what is a way to get better fuel mileage out of the truck as i am going to use it for driving back and fourth to work so i dont have to put the miles on my truck any advice ont he truck will help

As far as I know, there is no plate out there that will hurt fuel economy, but thats not saying your fuel economy wont go down if you always have your foot in it. If your not looking for alot of power, go with a 10 or 11 plate, if your looking for a little butt horse power try a 0 of a 100 plate. If you dont want to spend money on a plate, then slide your stock plate full foward. Pulling the plate completly is an option too, but you will have to be easy on the throttle and contol fueling with your foot if you want to get some good MPG's. Just find the plate that suits you and your driving style, and play with your starwheel. Making usable power and still acheiving some good fuel milage is all about tuning your P7100 Pump
