Quarter mile times

what are some quarter mile times for your guy's trucks? im not usually one to care about how fast my truck is, but my buddys dad has a 67 impala with a 396 and he swears that my cummins wont beat it, so here i am lookin to see what i gotta do to put him back in his place. I know for a fact that a posi definately needs to be put on, and the fuel plate can get grinded but thats not a worry right now, i wanna be able to run a 14 without toastin my tranny and all i wanna do is run one race to beat his piece. what injectors? should i worry about DV's with upgraded injectors? will the turbo hold up to that power? and whats your though on the wastegate? upgrade? i think mines shot its the stock one to my knowledge. and the TC i have no info on bc Protorque is useless. and what kind of power should i be expecting to create to run this time? an i know theres lots of posts to make your truck smopke and what not i dont want smoke i want him to see my end in front of him when im crossin that line.

It will be tough in a 2wd because you cant do much in the way of boosted launches. But just take it to the track as it is now and run it once then you will know where your at. Your biggest problem will be keepin the tires from spinnin IMO

15.84

4x4 launch with a 5 speed.

only mods are a 4k gsk and a 0#plate

get some wide rear tires don't boost it to hard and get some pump upgrades.

but a 396 in a 67 impala is gonna be hard to beat without some pretty extensive mods

he says it only runs a 14.5 which i honestly think is a dog. but i think ill have less problems with spinning when i get a posi bc thats power to 2 wheels not just one. will my TC hold up? it has really strong shift points and doesnt seem to be slipping at all when i give her. and im gonna get the 3k gsk kit and some ddp injectors but havent decided on which ones i thin its smart to run it as is now, its not goin down till next spring so it gives me time to get money for this.

Since you are going to start throwin extra fuel at it and drag racing, you will need to invest at least $4,000 in a built trans. Your stock trans won't handle ANY extra fuel.
