I need some advice about my 12v

I just got a 1996 12v.
mods:
homemade intake w/ filter
homemade 5" stacks
running no plate
Is there something I should be careful of or watch out for with these mods? And on another note the shut off soleniod is bad so thats jerry rigged too....
please help

get gauges and if the tranny/clutch is stock, it might not last too long if you beat on it

fuel shut off soleniods are $140 off ebay

The solenoid rarely goes bad on these engines. Here is a very good write-up on how to check the solenoid and its circuit. Scroll down towards the bottom of link:

thanks im gonna have to check that out, im gettin a new tranny in april and would appreciate any and all information on jasper (where im gettin my tranny) and some injector and turbo sugestions for the setup i have.
I use my truck for daily driving, towing, and all around showing off. my goals are 13s in the 1/4 and still reliable if possible.

For a transmission I strongly recommend Dave Goerand. I don't know if Jasper can build you a transmission to hold the HP your planning on putting to it. 13's in the quarter will take some pretty serious HP. Dave can build you one to take that and a LOT more.

i would definately get a good tranny. i have an ats tranny, but i have heard a lot of good things about Goerand transmissions. i heard their torque converters have a lifetime warrenty. thats who i would go with when i buy another tranny.

definately dave goerend 100% go with him hes a super intelligent guy and the tranny has 3 year warranty or 100k and lifetime on the tq if you have any questions about his trannys dave will spend however much time it takes for you to understand it (been there) hes an extremely nice person to deal with as wel,l he'll put you in one bad a$$ transimission

Start by fixing the dowel pin, get some guages, and a trans.

Here's you a link for a repair kit. I recommend going to cummins and also getting a timing cover gasket also:

Dowel Pin Repair Kit for 94-98

The dowel pin is used to hold the timing case in alignment. On these years trucks they are known to fall out and at minimum do no damage and at most completely destoy your engine. GET IT FIXED QUICKLY.
