Turbo Talk
What do you think? HX40, HX35, a special, or anything else? Dont want to spend ALOT, but the HC1 isn't doing the job. Will be adding 4k GSK and 60lb springs the same time of turbo install.

Unless you plan on throwing some more fuel at it, dont get too carried away with the turbo or its going to be a pig to drive around. Their are mixed opinions on the HX40, depending on its configuration (wheel and housing size) some people claim spoolup much similar to the stock WH1C/HX35W. While others claim it being a fair bit more laggy. SuperB/special is kind of the same boat, some claim super laggy and other say its not bad at all. but it all depends on your fueling and tuning. Facts are, its a bigger turbo, its not going to spool up as fast as the lil stocker, guaranteed. but with some good fine tuning its not going to be alot worse. Personally, if i could find a cheap HX40 i would throw it on and give it a shot. Chances are you can pick one up for ALOT less than an aftermarket turbo and with that money you save you can put it towards some injectors!

Their has been an outbreak of holset knockoffs on ebay and they are the same typical chinese junk. very prone to self destruction... They look VERY 'official' too, with the proper cummins/holset box, cummins/holset tag on the compressor housing, ect... I would be checking into it!

The plan was to go with an HX40. I can pick a non wastegated HX40/16 for a hella cheap price. Then i could get some injectors and some DV's. What injectors do you recommend to go with the HX40 and 191 DV's?

Personally i would go with a set of 435s/140s, chances are with alot of fuel coming from the pump its still going to get damn hot. but you can back off on the fueling a bit, then in the future if you want to throw a bigger hairdrier on it or some twins you still have some more fuel to throw at it with no extra cost.
