new turbo is on but I need to bring down egts

Hi
I just finished putting my new turbo. It is a borg warner s300g. I am running 204 dvs, bosch 370s, 3k gov springs, k&n intake, and a custom fuel plate. I like the power that I am getting, except the slow spooling, but my egts are getting hot when I get on it. They start climbing up to 16000 than I let off. I was wondering what I can do to keep down my temps a little bit. I was thinking about a intake manifold, ow much will this help? I plan on swapping out the 370s for some ddp 140s but that wont be for a while, will that help alot? thanks Patrick

your turbo is a bit on the small side to run WOT and stay cool. Water meth will help. going to bigger Injectors will get you hotter the 370HP are about 90HP over stock if I recall correctly. If you got marine 370 they are the wrong spray pattern and will run hotter and less efficient when compared to a 370 edm'd for dodge pistons.

a 3pc exhaust manifold will bring temps down about 50 degrees. you may also have too aggressive fueling curve on the fuel plate. has your timing been adjusted?

btw you have 1 too many zero's in your EGT #

I would bump the timing to about 16* if you havent advanced it already.

whats the specs on that s300?

Sounds like its time for something bigger....

Bump the timing up, that will help. Porting + a manifold will also help. air in and air out = happy EGTs. Any for of an air intake system will help over the stock airbox/filter (flows a measily 140cfm)

Which pump are you running?

Those 204 dvs seem a little large, you could go with a set of 181's or 191's. That may help some too. Ive seen some people make some big power with 181's even

You can do it with basic hand tools but your timing isnt going to be very accurate...

Your best off trying to get you hands on a dial indicator, if not the proper one, you can make a holder for any 'long' dial indicator using an oil pan plug. search around for info on that

I used an magnetinc base for the dial when I did mine.
