The 12cm housing on the HX35 is not going to be the best thing you could use (its super restrictive, the main reason for not running the HX35 over 35psi because the turbine housing is reaching its choke point, the compressor is still good for a bit more boost)

A bit bigger turbine housing on the 35 and you should have a decent set of mild twns

What size turbine housing is on the 55?

Look on the inside of the runner on the housing the size should be stamped in there.

You will definitely need alot of fuel and rpms to light it up with a housing like that

Can we fire this thread back up? Looks like it's the closest I can find in my searches to an anwer about exhaust housings and using my hx35/55 setup for compounds. I'll have to look at my 55 to see what the housing is. From what I've searched it looks like the stock hx35 housing is too small? Where can one larger be bought or what app did they come on? Thanks again to all.

yes, the factory housing is a 12cm3. unless you run an external wastegate to dump drive pressure around it, you will want a larger housing. Lots of diesel shops sell 14 or 16cm3 turbine housings for them. as far as applications, look around for a high hp industrial as i have seen them with fairly large housings.

Yes external will just be more work. So, 14 or 16 which is best for my auto application? Limited street, weekend puller.
