should be located at the top of the rear differential housing.

That is the only one that i am aware of. on some of the later model autos they were in the tranny but that should be yours on the differential. this sensor is usually what causes your symptoms.

on older OBD-1 models you could lift the rear off the ground, access diagnostic mode with the key and after getting the codes, you could then turn a wheel to confirm the diff sensor was working 8 blinks per rev i think. Did this feature go away with the advent of obd-II?

Im not getting any codes at all, it is OBDII. I do not have an ABS scanner, so i guess tomm i will start tracking down the harness, i read somewhere on the web that the harness runs up by the front drivers tire, and its a prone wear spot...not really sure though where i read that, or it could be for a totally diffrent thing.

I'm having the same issue, have a new sensor on order. I also noticed the wiring going into the connector plug is pretty bad looking and the plug is half broken, so replacing it too. Hopefully this fixes it.
I have also read that if you're diff is full of water/no oil, the metal filings can cause the sensor to quit working.
