cracked dash

just wondering if anyone has tried to fix their cracked dash by means other than replacing it. by this i mean plastic welding or epoxy, if so which method works the best and if anyone has pics of the finished result if you could post them that would be great. thanks in advance.

Really its only 100$ for a brand new dash, i dont see why anybody would bother but other then that im sure epoxy or anything else could fix it

The only way patching would work would be to totally cover the bottom of the dash and probably the top also. In that case you might as well make a whole new dash from scratch.

As one part of the dash broke due to a material that was not good enough quality another piece can always break off tomorrow. New cracks often show up in aged and fatigued materials after the first few cracks show up.

Unless you want to make a whole new custom dash top so you can add gauges or change something it in just buy a new piece.

Why take time to do a temporary patch instead of doing it right?

I have seen the after market overlay dash and radio bezel covers. They suck and they go for more like $150. The factory ones are a lot more money. Just my 2cents.

i wanna know where you can get a new dash for a $100? Mine was real bad i bought it cracked and broken. I had pieces completly missing. I decided to fab my own. I will get up some pics once its done. I did fiberglass on bottom, fiberglass top, light bondo work on top to level everything out then going to do fiberglass mat ontop to seal and give strength "also hold bondo from shrinking" then i have some mossy oak cloth that i am going to glue down ontop. still sanding and working all the edges/vent cut outs

Yep those are the one's I've seen and I wouldn't own one. I had an 01 that had no upper dash when I bought it and I drove it like that almost a year and a half before I found one on Craig's list. Still paid $100 and cracked it while installing it. The dealer wanted something like $450 for a new one. I love these trucks but the dashes are junk.

I'd like to see pics of yours cowboyup.
