put extended cab on reg cab long bed frame?

can it be done? i have a 1996 cummins reg cab long bed. and i bought a 1995 dodge parts truck reg cab long bed. the cab and fenders and bed are mint and would love to make my truck an extended cab,

looking at the frame on my ext cab and reg cab trucks, only the front body mount is the same. you will have to cut off the other 4 mounts from the ext cab donor truck and weld it on the new frame.

nothing hard if you know how to weld.

people will say its too hard or whatever, but its not.

also, no beds will work if you swap on the ext cab as the wheelbase is 6 inches shorter than an ext cab short bed, so there is no bed that would work so you would need some sort of flat bed

I would look for a excab long box frame and tranfer it all over. For anyone who wants to chop and extend a frame of a 2 gen truck 8"x3" c channel fits perfect!!!

I appreciate good fab but I gotta ask how the cab turned out?

but if I was him, and the parts truck has a good frame, id just swap everything over to that. I assume it was a typo saying that both rigs were reg cab

Pulled the truck out of the shop the otherday to clean up the floors. All in all it looks good but still need to finish welding and mudding up the joints. Will post a few pics later today of the progress.

I also have done it took me 3 weeks of work by myself and was work eveery min of work. only thing i had to purchase was a new driveshaft. everything else id there between the 2 trucks, i have out 5k miles on it with no problems. I will do it again if needed. all thises fuys on here make it out to be way harder then it really is.
