Well all the injection pumps are good ones. VP has the running out of FP problem. VE can run away and 500hp seem to be about the top. P7100 is fairly bullet proof unless you attempt to hurt it. Cp3 can also run out of FP but seems a little less common then VP.

I have a 96 and an 04, and have had 4 first gens, and the instantaneous ignition of the VE has always made me love first gens. My 96 and 04 will crank for 3-5 seconds and then start. every VE i've had, only need to have the starter engage and it would lite no matter the temp. As far as trucks go, I love the feel of the 04 trans, but my 96 is smoother being a long bed.

Are you pulling, daily driving, or drag racing? I have a different opinion for all three.

Pulling - P-Pump
DD - VP
Racing - CP3

98 Dodge... slow and unreliable
95 CJ-7... Cummins power and 37's
