Replacing master cylinder on a 8800 GVW

I'm replacing the master cylinder on our 96 2WD 2500 with the 8800 GVW package. The eternal question is regarding the difference between the 7500 and the 8800 units...is there a difference? 2WD & 4WD for that matter. I have seen other differences in suspension and brake pads, so I'm inclined to check before doing the job twice. Anyone have any 1st hand knowledge? Thanks!

Yes they are different , 2 and 4 wd are the same but there is an obvious diff in size between the 8800 and the smaller. Make sure you get the same one

Thanks! I picked up the new, correct unit at NAPA and it's waiting to be installed. FYI, AutoZone doesn't even recognize the 8800 and will just sell you 7500 parts as if they're the same...not!
