factory fuel computer install??? with temp

was the the junk yard today and found a ram with the millege computer up top with temp.
it was on a 95 GAS auto truck

my truck is a 97 5 speed diesel
if i take the computer and the harness and plug it in to my truck will it work or is it tied into the gas motor some how?
i dont know how it would be.
i would think it runs off abs or wheel sensors???

thanks

Im pretty sure before 98 all the overhead did was tell you the outside temp and had a compass. And the 12v s that came from the factory with overhead never had the mileage stuff because that came with the computer in the 24v.
