What to keep in the box

Just bought a 98 12v ram with 160K. Im just curious what everyone is keeping with them in their truck, for their truck. I currently have tools, clamps and nothing else, this is due to the fact I just bought the truck.

Recovery gear is always good (tow strap, clevis s, a short chain, and jumper cables) I dont even drive my little car without these things.

When it come to my 12v I have a snap-on top chest strapped down on the bed (but I like to be able to fix things in the field)

It also never hurts to keep some fluids in the truck, I always have engine oil and powersteering fluid with me. Maybe if I stopped all the leaks I wouldnt have to lol.

But it never hurts to have too many tools.

Over the last 25 years, every time I've needed something while in the truck, and not had it, I"ve put it in. Alot of stuff has never been used again, but I've not been left stranded in a long time. Tools, chains, blocks of wood, common spare parts especially fuel/oil filters, fluids, selection of nuts, bolts and washers, a small box of auto electrical stuff, axe, shovel, small pick, tire repair kit, 12 volt compresor, prybar, high lift jack, sleeping bag, blanket. I've got a normal size below the bedrail gearbox and two surplus 20mm ammo boxes bolted to the bed behind the wheel wells to hold it all

When I travel with mine, I carry two small tool boxes. One is full of metric sockets and wrenches and the other standard. I also carry pliers, screwdrivers, elect tape, misc. nuts&bolts&washers, small test lite, volt meter and stuff like that. The two take up very little room and get used almost every trip. I've changed out fuel pumps, alternators, bulbs, pipes in camper and so forth. I can't pull a trans or engine, but I can fix most external problems that come up.

Old belt, fuel filter, gallon of oil, bottle of 911, coolant, brake fluid, tow strap, 2 work lights, ratchet straps, hitches, ratchet and socket set, pliers, extension cord and a 1400W inverter, and probably some junk that made the way in there.
