Water noise in dash

I have a 97 2500 with 189k, and everytime I start it and begin to drive off it sounds like I have a waterfall on the passenger side of the truck. IDK what caused this some times it does it some times it doesnt, its done this since the day I bought it. Its starting to drive me nuts cause everytime I give it throttle I hear it.

Well sounds like your heater core is not full of coolant. Check your coolant level at the radiator sounds like its low or you have a semi blocked heater core.

think about it, what else could it be. if there wasn't any air in there you wouldn't hear squat. need to bleed some air out of upper heater line

Both mine have done it since they were new, coolant level is fine.
Notice that none the people saying you have a problem have 12 valves in their signature.

Mine did the same thing until I took the time to really bleed the air out of the coolant. There is a LOT of coolant and it takes some trouble some times. I had to start mine cold with radiator cap off and really rock the truck to get air out. After two or three times the noise finally went away. Air head forms at radiator core and it is hard to get out. Don't see how it could cause problems though.

Benn doing it in mine for quite some time now. Both before and after I replaced the heater core, and used an air-evac system to draw air out of my cooling system. I just pretend its a calm waterfall.....LOL

Mine does it too. Did it in my old chevy 1/2 ton as well. Wouldn't worry about it.
