Fuel shutoff solenoid question

Hi,
I pulled the afc this weekend and noticed that the bottom bolt that holds the fuel solenoid is MIA. Does anyone out there know what size that puppy is? Also, purchased allen bolts for the afc to be able to adjust-what's the torque specs for them and should i lock washer them? Seems I read that they vibrate loose...
thanks

for the sylenoid, just pull the screw you have and run to the parts store and get another one. as far as the afc bolts, if you talking about the four bolts on the top. just put them on and tighten them down, no torque spec or lock washers needed.

Update-Fuel shutoff solenoid question

I forgot to mention..the solenoid is not always pulling the plunger up completely. I have to manually pull it (seems to stick) which results in less than 100% power/pull (it becomes a dog on hills). Could this be due to the bolt, or something else (It's like the transfer pump in that you cannot see the assemble to evaluate). I will be pulling the solenoid tonight to clean, but that does not seem to be the issue as it slides up and down fine and rod is correctly adjusted, and the boot is not getting in the way.

If cleaning does not solve the sticking, I am wondering if you are getting enough voltage to pull the plunger up.

Hi, I thought of that, but when I pull it up manually, it seems to catch more like a mechanical issue. with the motor off, it slides up and down smoothly

Without the lower bolt the solenoid doesn't line up correctly and will bind.
Been there, done that.
About all I can tell you is it's metric.

M6 is the size, but not sure about length. It is fairly long compared to the other two. All the bolts going into pump are metric.

I called local Cummins dealer. The say the bottom bolt is M6x1.0x45...I believe the with the conversion that it is a 6mm bolt that is 1.75 inches long...which seems about right...

Had the same problem with the solenoid not pulling up every time but a new relay fixed the problem, 2 of them to my door for $25 now I've got a spare.

i was gonna say relay for it too. mine every once in a while wont start and all i do it leave the key on and pop the hood and pull up the solenoid and its good to go. One of these years ill buy a few new relays. i saw some 70 amp ones on ebay that would prob work for like 15 bucks a set of four
