Fog Light/?'s

Hey guys.. for all who have the factory fog lights....
...As far as I can tell my 97 never came with em on it.. I wanna do it as close to factory as possible. I see LMC sells and housing and mounts but is there a harness that would make it easier/ possible with the headlight switch. Any info would be awesome, Thanks

doing foglights on my 95 . snoopin around revealed some extra wires with connectors up front by the bumper eerily near the fog light holes and a extra plug next to the od switch. gonna snoop some more and see how much of it is there. and how much work to make it look like it should be. did not look at the fuse/ relay blocks yet to see if connectors are in the slots for em.

fog lights

I'm in the same boat. My '97 build sheet tells me my truck never came with fog lights. When I bought it, it had a replacement front bumper with the factory fog lamps in place, but no harness. Dash had no switches, just empty storage box.

I've located the fog/OD switches, (I have 5S, so will never need the OD switch).

Now I have to figure out if, "all," '97's came with most of the wiring harness in place or if I'm missing a major harness. I hope the basics are there and I can find some plug in sections. But so far, under the bumper I see nothing.

I guess I need to know if I need ALL the wiring, or if the factory always puts some in just in case.

???

I did on my 96. I found connector by the bumper and 2 fog lamp relays were in place in relay box, but I didn't find the connector behind the dash, so I did my own wiring from switch to relay box. The first relay is used for turning fogs off when you turn high beams on, I guess. But I think wiring harness in my truck was messed up and fog lamps turned off whenever I turn on my park lights, low beams or high beams. I took out the first relay and wired switch to second relay.

So you wired from the relay box to your switch only?? Almost seems like if you cant find that harness better off wiring the whole thing from scratch so you can have the fogs on whenever you want?? I just don't know exactly connector would come with those lights from LMC.

I bypassed the 1st relay so I can have fogs whenever I want.
Here's how I did it.
I connected one wire from battery(+) to switch, and from switch to relay pin #2. Pin #5 on relay is always with 12V, so when I engage relay it sends that 12V to pin #3 which then goes to lamps. I cut off the connector near the bumper and made my own to connect the lamps.

Connector near bumper. Lamps are grounded to the bumper.

Relay wiring. Black wire is ground to pin #1(it doesn't have ground if 1st relay is removed), white is 12V from switch to pin #2. Pins are labeled on relay. I also heard mod about cutting the pin #2 on fog lamp relay #1 to make fogs work when high beams are on, but that didn't work for me so I had to hack my own way a little bit.

The switch that came with the lamps is too bright at night, so I think I'll change it to OEM Mopar switch soon so it could look more original.

Yeah, I actually learned alot while I was working on it, also blown a headlamp fuse, it will be alot easier if you find the fog-lamp switch connector behind the dash. I removed the dash several times and still couldn't find any connector there.
I bought some cheapos at Walmart for $40 I think, the reason I bought them is I just wanted to cover the round holes in the bumper so it could look better, and actually connected them only months later.
