tow mirror install (pics)

If anyone here has owned an early 2nd gen dodge, you know the mirrors suck! I couldnt see past my dually fenders at all. Pretty scarry towing a 10 trailer with a slide in camper in the back. I bought these power, fold out tow mirrors off ebay for $261 shipped. They are for a 98.5-02 dodge. So to get them on my 96, I had to change a few things.
Here is the old junk.

Pull the door panel, remove the 3 mounting nuts and unplug the harness.

As you can see the plugs are different between the new mirrors and the old ones. I cut off the plugs and re soldered them on. Followed by sliding heat shrink over the joints to make it trouble free.

After that, simply install the new mirrors. Fast, easy upgrade. Took about and hour and a half to do both sides. Beer brakes included.

Those mirrors look sweet on there. You may have given me a reason to do the same.

I dont know the brand off hand. I believe they are an aftermarket upgrade to the newer second gens. They came with heating elements, but I chose not to hook them up.

Do the mirrors vibrate any more than normal? Over the years Ive seen guys have trouble getting kool vue mirrors and some that did had problems with the lenses vibrating.

Thanks
Ian
