Well, my next step would be to change the fuel filter, check the air filter, coolant level, etc.. All the basics, if you cannot pull codes. Fuel filter ASAP, supposed to do them like every 5000 miles or so, so for the 20 or 30 bucks that it costs, I would definately do that first.

I bought a fuel filter so ill be doing that today.

I sucked it up and bought a scanner. autozone apparently doesnt do it anymore.

So my codes:

P1693
P0238- this one concerns me, i think it is a boost sensor reading too high? this might explain the sluggishness of the engine if something is wrong with the turbo?

Is this something i can fix?

1693 always comes up to show there is another code stored in the JTEC module. However the 238 code is Map sensor voltage to high. That would explain the way it is running. Do a search on this forum on how to clean the MAP sensor, could be an easy fix, or test and if bad-replace-good luck

Probably run the same, but I have seen some of the connections in the plug get fouled up, might be worth tryin.

My 01 did the same thing on a trip once, but mine would eventually kick back in. My idle speed also went up to 1,000 rpms and the engine cooled 10 degrees. I ran the cruise this weekend and my idle speed went back up and I only got 12.8 mpg...been averaging 16??? I have 3.55 gears and cannot undertstand the mileage unless it is due to my Edge Comp being set at level 3 stage five...definitely won't be using that setting on the interstate any more.

pedel pump

Mine throws a code for loss of throttle idle ref position, P0121.

I got a $40 reader from harbor freight, does the job.

To get pedel back I have to let my foot off all the way for a sec and then slowly push to the floor, let off again and I got pedal.

I guess it's the Fedex computer problem.

BoBo, alot of times when the APPS sensor is out of adjustment it will throw the PO 121. Do a search on ApPS adjustment, this will likely fix your problem.

I had this problem happen last week. Ran codes and it was the apps sensor. Well they wanted over $500 for the part. I took out the sensor, cleaned the plug, put die-electric greese on the connectors and put the old apps sensor back in. Cleared the codes and the truck runs great again. Saved myself $500
