truck barely moves

Today i installed a BD valve body. when i went to take it for a test drive it backed out of the barn fine and seem to be working fine, but when i put it in drive it did not move. the engine would rev up to about 1800 rpm before it slowly started to move. after driving it down the drive way it seemed to get a little better, so i drove it down the road with no improvement so i went back to my house. i checked the fluid level and it was ok. Any a help would be greatly appreciated.

PS: i also adjusted the bands, could not adjusting them correctly cause this.

You could have a couple of problems. First did you torque all of the bolts that hold the VB to the case. If you left the bolts loose, it could cause it not to move.
Second, did you put the accumulator piston back in the case. It is located between the front band servo and the rear band servo. If you did reinstall it, you may need to make sure that the sealing rings are still on it.
There should be one on each end.
Other than that, it could be a stuck valve or a missing check ball in the VB. I would install a pressure gauge on the pressure tap on the right side of the transmission. There is three on that side. You will want to get on the one in the middle. Pressure at idle should be around 75-90 psi in drive.
I suggest that you do not drive it in this condition. Internal damage could result.

Agreed, but edited.

One more thing, the accumulator piston should have a spring on the bottom of it.
Be sure to check your fluid level in neutral@ idle.

i torqued the bolts down again and after shifting it through the gears for a while it seemed to be fine. i took it for a test drive and from what i can tell it does not slip but i think it heated up a little faster than it use to or i am just paranoid. is there any way to tell if it is slipping a little, also were can i get a gauge to measure the pressure. thanks for all your help

Unfortunately I don't know of a "gauge" to measure the slippage. Back when I had my duramax the Edge unit had a slippage monitor as well. That was great!

As for line pressures, you can pick up a cheapo oil pressure gauge from the parts store and plumb it into the transmission. there's a 1/8" NPT plug on the passenger side to check line pressures from.
