Bad Injector
I have a 2007, 6.7, 29k miles, that has been running rough at idle, bad viberation less than 2,000 rpm in 6th gear. It would not start after I shut it down. I replaced the fuel filter, and it is still idling rough. After I replaced the filter, I forgot to plug in the 'water' sensor. I got a light, but it went away after I connected the sensor. Took it to the dealer. They want to charge me to pull the valve cover and test the fuel. They say that water may have killed the injector (#1) and this is not covered. Or it may be bad fuel. I have never had a water light, but still have CEL. Any suggestions? Thanks, Mike |

You don't have a warranty??? If it is true what they say, they will have to prove in writing through some kind of fuel analysis, that indeed there was enough water in the system to damage one, out of the six injectors. I personally would think that on that engine, more than one would have went bad with water in the fuel

From Bad to Worse!
I took it to another dealer. They said that I have been using contaminated fuel . . . everything is bad. Dealer says this is not covered under waranttee and said that it will be in excess of $10,000 to replace everything. During the first diag, dealer said that there was a misfire in cyl #1. If they were all bad, wouldn't the code show misfires in all cylinders? My beef. Why wasn't there a warning light or why didn't the filter catch this? The only time that I saw a warning light was when I failed to put the 'water' sensor on after I changed the filter. 29,000 miles! Suggestions please. |

I think I would personally try another dealer???? Find out from them if it's just for tinj swap or if they want to replace other things and look into doing it myself. That wouldn't be before I tried every legal road to nail them for it though, did you have the fuel analized???

They said that there was rust in all the passages. All the crossovers . . . and I am not sure what else he said. I don't know if they switched parts, or if this is legit. I can't believe there is so much damage when this truck is less than 1 year old. |
