Unhappy help

New truck and just figured out that it is missing a clip on the e-brake cable but there is not enough slack to get anouther on,also if I replace the dash guages will I loose the odometer reading?Thanks for the input guys.

The adjuster for the parking brake is under the truck in front of the left rear wheels. You should be able to loosen the adjuster to get slack and then retighten it when you are done(don't overtighten). The rear brake adjustment affects the parking brake, too. If the automatic adjusters are not working you can adjust the brakes manually. If you adjust the rear brakes do it before you adjust the parking brake.

I don't know where the odometer data is stored (in the computer or in the insturment cluster).

odometer is stored in the black box in the computer, you will not loose it if you change it
