2000 ctd emergency brake light and ABS light come on together and Im leaving for vaca

00 Dodge ctd sport, My abs and Brake light came on SOLID.. and sometimes they flash at me while Im driving!! but 90 percent of the time there just on solid!!

I read on here that if this happens the most common thing was the vss on the rear axle.. or on the tranny but those symtoms also had speedo issues and cruise issues and BOTH WORK PROPERLY on my truck so im thinking thats ruled out, Next from experience I know when the brakefluids low that both lights come on.. But It checked out also!! Fluids toped off perfect!

So Im leaving in 4 days for vacation with my truck and was wondering if anyone else had this experience?

I put new rotors and front brake pads on 10k ago,, no issues..

Im thinking is there a sensor for your rear drum brakes?

Please help with any idea or suggestions! Thanks

Is your pedal good and firm? Doesn't bleed down? I've seen the hydro booster be the culprit for these symptoms before.

Check you power steering fluid level and brake fluid levels. Maybe get lucky and get an easy fix. Normally when this happens, you will be leaking fluid(s) between the master cylinder and the hydro boost.

I recently had the same problem on my 98. I replaced the rear wheel speed sensor on the top side of the differential. I noticed my ABS moduled no longer performed its power on self test as I was no longer hearing the 'thump' sound when I turned the ignition key. My speedo was fine. I ohmed out the front two ABS wheel snsors at the ABS computer connector and they matched at around 1500 ohms. The rear wheel measured 'open'. Part was $47 from Dodge, it's less expensive at other online sites but I was in a hurry. Good Luck.
