Angry Help!! Injector problems

I had a few posts before about hard starts..

Because I could not afford new injectors I sent my injectors to be remaned and when I put them back in the truck it started and idles fine. However there was grayish smoke at idle. I thought it might clear up after a little while..

Anyway I decided to take it for a little test in hopes of burning of the smoke..
The first thing I noticed was the lack of power and lots of black smoke when just touching the pedal.. I immeadiatley turned back and then all of a sudden a hear a loud knocking noise and the truck is chugging and black smoke is puffing out of the tail pipe...

After letting the truck sit overnight my oil level is normal.

No blow by, just a loud knocking and it sounds like it is coming from number 1..

I have no codes and cannot get a scanner on it until thursday.

I am desperate and cannot get in contact with the company that did the reman yet..

Please let me know what I can do..

Sounds like a pintle is hung in one of the nozzles, allowing fuel to be introduced unmetered. I wouldn't drive it. Pull them out one at a time and see if you can blow compressed air through the feed passage in the body. If air comes out of the nozzle holes, that is the faulty injector.

trying blowing through it like shane said. this same exact thing happened to me and i had a stuck injector. do not attempt to fire the engine up before you get this fixed, you don't want to hydrolock your motor. take the injectors out and find which one it is, you can even take the injector apart to see if it is stuck open or not.

Thanks for the quick replys. I have found out that it is injector #1 I disconnected the power wires to it and the noise stops and the engine runs nicely also all the smoke is gone.

Then while the engine is running if I put the wire back on the loud nocking comes back and when removed it is gone..

So how can I fix this.. I am afraid to open them but if I have to then I will. Is there any instructions that I can follow..

Thanks alot..

its simple....search on here for detailed instructions, pm me if you have any questions. i would pull all the injectors replace them with aftermarket or stock which ever one is cheaper...the reason i say pull them all is because if you get one new injector it will have a different flow rate than the rest of your injectors and your truck will run/idle rough...good luck with everything, hope this helps!!

Thanks for the tip..

Actually I removed the injector, took off the tip and cleaned inside with wd-40. Put it back in the truck and the noise is gone and the smoke at idle is gone..

My new problem is that the truck smokes way more than before I sent the injectors to be rebuilt. I mean if I touch the pedal it will puff a big cloud of black smoke... Also My egts are a little higher and when I look at the edge juice where it says load I am using a lot more fuel than what I used to..

Is there anything that can do to know why the truck smoke so much??

Well I am still having problems with my truck.

I finnaly got it hooked up to a scanner and what we did was do a injector kill test. We killed one injector at a time and reved the engine to see if there was any change in smoke. After doing this to each injector we still had the same black smoke..

We then checked for boost leaks but did not find any.
Also there is a very light white smoke at idle you almost dont notice it but it is there..

Does any one have any suggestions for me?? I really dont want some thing worse to happen..

I will remove the edge and see if anything changes..

Does anyone think if I run the truck like this if I can cause major damage..

It runs and idles fine (except for the light white smoke)

Ok so I removed the edge but saw only a slight decrease in smoke.. So that's not the problem...

It must be some issue with the injectors being rebuilt..

By the way when i put the edge back on the where it says "load" I am at 21% at idle before having the injectors remaned it was at 12-13%..

I want to know something, I have to take the truck on a 150 mile trip if you guys were in my shoes would you do it???
