tranny problem

Ive read many threads on the tranny and the 1-2 shift hunt and issues with 2nd gear. Thought i would give my scenario and see if someone can better pinpoint the issue.

Ive had the 1-2 shift hunt under low acceleration for 1 year and half or so and have just lived with it. In addition for some time now, while drving and stomping on the peddle, ther have been issues with it downshifting and not feeling like it was accelerating much. I think it would down shift into 2nd and would just rev high with not much go. Then, when it would shift into 3rd it would take off.

Now, it seems the 2nd gear has gotten much worse as it has the same symptoms but at normal acceleration. Just light throttle it goes into 2nd, but the truck doesnt accelerate much until it shifts into 3rd and then moves fine. IT also seems teh 1-2 shift hunt is much worse.

I was due for a fluid and filter change and the fluid didnt smell burned, i had some material on the magnet but im guessing it was from normal wear. ITs been 35,000 miles since last change. I filled back up with fluid and symptoms are eaxactly the same.

Before i go buy a shift kit, gov. sol. or sensor, valve body, torque conv. , new tranny.... i thought i would ask what people think. Im not too far from Floor it diesel so i guess i can drive down there to see what he thinks and suggestions. Oh and i have 92k miles 04.5 auto

Thanks for any help.

try changin your speed sensor. mine is located on pass. side of tranny behind the pan. (99) bout $16. my auto tranny would hesitate goin into 2nd then finally would not come out of 2nd. i changed fluid, filter, gov. pressure sensor and solenoid, etc. bout $400. changed speed sensor 1 day before ordering new tranny. def worth 16 bucks to find out i think. and 30 seconds to install. let me know wat happens
