p1693

Fellers, I started out thinking I had an apps issue. I tried the reset and it worked for a day or so. Finally searched around here long enough to find how to do the key switch to get codes. I got p1693 (DTC detected in companion JTEC mod.) What the heck is that?

I see that post. So 1693 by itself isn't something to worry about? I have good fuel pressure (never lower than 9 psi). I'm losing my patience with this thing. It seems everyone has a different opinion on what is wrong and how to fix it. How do I know for sure if it's the apps? Thanks guys.

Without any other codes it's really hard to say whether it's the APPS the VP44 or something else. APPS is definitely a cheaper fix than the VP44 though.

I would imagine. Correct me if I'm wrong, but if it was the vp wouldn't it be more obvious? When I'm running with the cruise on, you'd never know the truck had ever made me mad. No lights, no codes to speak of. Just pure and utter aggravation!
