Seems like electronic

P1694 Chrysler No CCD message from PCM- Aisin transmission

P1693 Chrysler A companion DTC was set in both the ECM and PCM

P1687 Chrysler No Cluster Bus Messages
P1687 Chrysler No Mechanical Instrument cluster bus message

The death code is
P0216 Generic Injector/Injection Timing Control Circuit

The P1693 says there is a code stored. Need to scan the truck further to see what other codes are there. Do you have a fuel pressure gauge installed? You lift pump may be on the way out or if the P0216 comes up unfortunately new VP-44 is in your near future.

Sounds to me like maybe the electronics in your VP44 might be fried. That or you have a loose connection somewhere, but you are describing the symptoms of a pump going out. You have lift pump pressure?

Here is a link to Mopar1973man's website. There is a fuel test port number 21 on the diagram. He also has the fuel pressures listed. Need to get yourself a fuel pressure gauge.

You need to check fuel pressure first. Are you the orginal owner of the truck? Has the lift pump every been changed? If the pressures are not in spec, then you need to replace the lift pump. Airdog or FASS are good options. There are some other options out there. A fuel pressure gauge is a must for our trucks. Also need to scan for codes to see what is in there.

P0216 Generic Injector/Injection Timing Control Circuit is usually related to electronic failure not mechanical if i remember right. I believe i read it at blue chip diesel. It is caused when the solder joints lose connection from heat cycles. I suppose if you where handy with electronics you might be able to repair it, otherwise you are going to end up getting a new VP.
