Dead pedal and fast idle,help

I have a 2002 Dodge 3500 cummins 6 speed 66,000 mi with a problem. It started when i pulled of the highway for coffee and the idle was high(1100rpm) and up&down. When i restarted after coffee it was ok. Then a few miles down the road i got a dead gas pedal and i pulled over but pedal was ok so i resumed my trip.I bought 2 new fuel filters and put one in after draining housing(getting it started again is another story) Anyway, it happened 5-6 more times on way home after the funeral. I got 22mi from home and had to call a wrecker because that last time pedal didn't come back after idling for 20 min.The next day i changed out the filter again but didn't find anything. Now after reading every thing i can find, i know i need a fuel presser gauge but i don't know if i need a lift pump or a APPS or a Injection pump. I have found the key thing and got a1693 & 122 code, where can i print out a list of codes? Where can i find a servive manuel for Dodge/Cummins and where can i find the less costly parts???

On the drive shaft? When I bought my 96 cummins I noticed oil on my drive shaft. I got under it and traced it forward to find out the oil pan gasket was bad, I didnt feel like paying the stealership almost $800 to do it so i did it myself in 2 hours for $20.
