Brakes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i recently took my truck in because all 4 brakes where totally locked on like the pedal was rock hard to push. The dealership figured that the hydra booster was gone they replaced it .then i called and they told me that the brake fluid was contaminated they told me there was no warranty since there was no mechanical failure now i am left holding the tab i have to go pick it up and need to know some things to do to make sure they arent screwing me over . the truck isnt even a year old old so there would be no reason to even touch the brake fluid. i think i am getting screwed . the truck is a 6.7 litre CTD 3500 2007 is there any way that the ps fluid from the booster could leak into the master cylinder. |

2 seperate systems. The booster would have to leak past its seal and then have enough presure to push through the master clys seals...unlikely. Have you had the truck to a quickey lube recently?? Maybe one of their techs Topped Off you fluids and put the wrong stuff on the wrong hole? Get out your reciepts and start looking. If you have the service done at a shop and then can prove that the damage was after their service you may be able to put in a claim. Good Luck... Chris

I would contend that the 800 to 1200 psi of the ps pump may easily push past the dust seal on the master cylinder, and the u-cup seals on the piston freely allow fluid past them. That's how they self adjust for wear. They only push one way, and towards the front is the way they push. As stated in my reply to your PM, the issue is whether or not yours has a "weep hole" between the two units. I have heard some do, but I don't recall one on mine. If it does, you should be able to see it with a mirror on the bottom where the two join. If it does NOT have a weep hole, the ps pressure leaking past the front booster seal would have no where else to go but into the brakes. Again, I have heard of this happening before.
