Air dog 100 help

Went on a 2 hr trip each way yesterday pulling a trailer, about 8000lbs total, and noticed my fuel pressure dopping over time. i started at about 13lbs, then it sat at 11 for a bit, then 10, then this morn i started it up at it was at 7!! What could be going on? I'm going to check my filter and see if that helps. Then i guess check the lines going to my gauge. Could the pump be going bad? only been on since christmas.

jbarker-if ya see this and know what i could do, let me know. i got the pump from ya so you would know.

thanks in advance

Could be many minor things. Give us a call and I will walk you through a couple things. Good start though on double checking that guage.

If you run an electric gauge, check to see that it is grounding properly. I have mine plumbed away from the block to reduce vibrations and once in a while I would see a pressure drop. I cleaned the mount and crimped the eyebolt and it hasn't hiccupped since.... Chris

I have mechanical gauges. Didn't have time tonight but will look into tomorrow hopefully. just weird how it was fine for 6 months then just started going down. truck runs great and fuel pressure gauge in truck stays right at 7lbs and never drops. so i don't know. will see what i come up with tomorrow evening hopefully

after prob started i took that tank down to 1/8 tank, then refilled. that was when it finally droped to 7 and stayed there. changed the filter and completely emptied water seperator and nothing changed. going to run through all conections and gauge lines tonight

7 lbs is a little low, no? I wont run mine below 14-15 lbs just to keep flow up to the VP-44. Could you have a VP on its way out?? Also check the overflow valve at the VP (the fitting next to the inlet from the fuel filter). They are known to get stuck in the open position and bypass fuel back to the tank, can show up as low fuel pressure on a gauge. The valve goes in with 2 gaskets similar to the banjo bolts and is only about $30 from the dealer. You may be able to pull it/claen it/ tryit to see if that works.... Chris

I know 7 isn't enough. its been really weird some times its 7, sometimes its more like 8.5-9. i really don't know what the deal is. i need to call airdog again to see what they think. worried about driving the truck to much or to hard just bc i don't want to risk anything.

By the way, changed filter after prob started to see if it would help and nothing. tighted all fittings to make sure they are good. will dig into guage lines going to isolater and then isolater to mechanical gauge.

anybody know the part number of the overflow valve? Stealership in town is pretty stupid when it comes to diesels so it would be nice to just tell them the numbers. how hard is it to pull valve and what are steps?

Thanks for all help. just want to get this figured out
