Cummins Nut

OK its not a dodge or cummins but i need help and can't find anything. I am replacing the fuel pump on my 1997 gmc 1500 truck i have the tank down and i need to get the sending unit and stuff off to get the pump out but don't know how. Please help

Its easier if you pull the bed off . Undo the bed bolts slide the bed back . Undo the ground to the frame and undo the fuel lines .When you unbolt the ground the plug for the pump should be right there . go ahead and un plug it . Then youll notice it has a ring that had taps sticking up . Take a screw driver and push the tabs down . Then use the screw driver and a lil hammer and tap the ring in a counter clock wise direction . Youll see the gap in the rings and the taps on the tank line up . Then lift the ring off and the whole sending unit and pump should come right out . Its real easy to figure out once u get the bed off . Get a factory pump , Ive had to put 3 napa pumps and 2 autozone pumps in my uncles truck . Then he finally went to the dealer and problem was solved .

i was going to but i was gonna have to break some welds from my 3 inch body lift and i just broke the lines so i gotta take the pump back and get the whole assembly. there goes another 240
