Sigh...Need Ya'lls Help yet Again :)

I hope that I can explain this....today I accelerated, not hard, and the boost shot up to 35-38 and then I heard a spinning-whining-whistling noise and the boost went to 0 immediately and the EGT's were over 1300....obviously something to do with the turbo?....I drove it on in and I had to baby it not to max the boost and EGT.....it is not smoking like a failed turbo would do...any ideas? have I ruined the turbo? spun a bearing? Thanks in advance you guys have been Aces with helping me

It is a 2007 3500, 5.9L, Auto Tranny with Edge and Turbo Back

I'd check the intercooler boots first. Then all the connections to and from the turbo to the intake manifold.

My first guess is you had a loose clamp on an intercooler hose. (I hope)

I guess the first thing to do would be check for codes. If no codes I would check the turbo impeller for excessive play. Are you saying it's overboosting with little pedal input? Or no boosting?

Thanks for the help guys,,,,it was the turbo...got lucky and it was able to be rebuilt for $475 rather than $1500 for a new one....the turbo guys said that it had sucked something "soft" through it. We looked everywhere and there were no holes, nothing loose, etc....we are checking to see if maybe a tab came off the inside of the Amsoil filter i had on it...
