Need Help ASAP

i have a friend with a
2001 Dodge Ram 2500
Engine 5.9L 24V HO
Tranny 6SP Manual
Gears 4:11
Performance
Edge Comp Box,Stage 5 Edge sticks,5" staxs,Fass Lift Pump and a brand new VP44 Industrail Injection pump.
the problem is when you start pulling some power off the go pedal it starts to shake and this problem started when the lift pump went out and hge didn't realise it right away so we thought the injections pump went out so we upgraded it to a Fass and then did a the brand new VP 44 fuel pump and it's still doing it so we sent the Edge injectors back and reinstalled the OEM injectors and it wasn't as noticable as before and edge sent us all new injectors we installed and it wasn't as bad as before but it is still doing it.if i had to descibe the shaking i would call it a timing shake.hope this is enough info if not i'll try and be more specific.thanks

Reason I'm askin is I did the install with a mechanic buddys help and we almost squashed the key thinkin of tightening up the IP. I called Industrial Injection when we noticed the key was kinda smashed on one side and they said just file off the rounded corner and hope for the best. It wasnt really that bad like I said we never did tighten it down all the way. I would just guess it may affect timing enough to cause a shaking you describe.

OK, I just re read this part of your post.....

I'd suggest checkin the entire fuel system from the tank, filters all the way to injectors, were the originals reinstalled with new washers?

he has 14-17 Fuel PSI at idle and WOT in all the gears and he did all new fuel filters,a brand new Fass Lift pump and the new IP so so i'm confident that we have fuel to the engine, could the Comp box cause this.

Couple of thoughts:

- What kind of smoke are you throwing when the shake is happening?

- What RPM is the shake starting? Same place every time? Or, same level of boost?

- Has anything else been done? EdgeComp and Stage 5 injectors seem like a lot of fuel to not see a turbo upgrade and at least head studs.

the shaking starts at roughly 20-30PSI and roughly 1400* and it only does it in 6TH gear.he didn't do the head studs and runnin 50-55PSI on the stock charger.

Hmmm. Certainly pushing the stock charger well beyond it's efficiency map which tops at 35PSI or so and borrowing some luck running a stock head gasket at 55PSI.

The "only in 6th gear" part is interesting, leads my mind away from the motor toward the drivetrain, assuming you are also hitting the same engine numbers (boost, EGT's, RPM's, etc.) in 5th gear. Any performance shops nearby where you can get it on a dyno? Could be something simple like a u-joint.

i'll tell him about pushing the turbo so hard.i was a tad bit off he runs 40-50PSI but it's still up there.
like i mentioned it only does it in 6TH gear when he is accelerating so i myself am thinking it's something other then a fuel related problem so he is looking into what driveline problems it could be..thanks for all the help so far.
