Understand that. I know, when Im loaded Im easy on it. Being a 12 valve, I cant turn down the power. LOL. My truck empty is 12,000 lbs and can outrun my brothers 95 2wd 3500 thats mostly stock. I cant complain there, there isnt many trucks around that can keep up with me off the line, but at about 40 mph they usually leave me, as Im already in 5th gear. 4.88 gears in it so it leaves pretty good. As for towing, Im usually fairly easy on it and watch the guages constantly. The guy at my Napa store here in town laughs at me with all the guages Ive got, but I like to monitor everything and drive accordingly. Granted, Im a young buck compared to you, lol, but Ive been pulling trailers since I was 16. Ive drivin in almost every condition possible in Southern Illinois and the surrounding area around St Louis, MO. My problem here lately with my engines was due to a cracked head. It cracked one night coming home from a tractor show. I was just driving the truck home, but the radiator hose blew off and I didnt know it did. I was too tired or something to realize that the guage showed warm, I mean it was 2:30 on a Sunday morning after being up almost 20 hours and being at a tractor pull for 4 hours. LOL. O well, such is life. Put a new block and everything in it, but reused the same head. Now I have another block thats messed up.

Hahaha, yeah, definitely will every time from here on out. I just never would have thought that the head would be junk. O well, its going to be sitting a while anyhow until I get back to work I have a feeling.

Guys, I thought I'd give you all an update on my problem. I honed the cylinders and they turned out good. I rolled out the bearing and ran a wire in the piston coolng nozzle to make sure it was clear. I felt the crank with the wire so I know it was open. I then sprayed brake cleaner into the jet and in the bearing area to flush out anything that might have been pushed out. I then reinstalled the bearing and put compressed air into the oil hole in the main bearing jourmal. I plugged the rod journal oil hole and felt the air coming out of the piston cooling nozzle. There was just the slightest flow of air. I repeated this procedure on cylinder number 5 and there was a strong jet of air coming out of the nozzle. So there's something still blocking the flow to the jet. I noticed the nozzle was loose in the block so maybe it has dropped down against the bearing shell and reduced the flow area somehow. Looks like I'll need to pull the crank to see find out what's going on. I had hoped to get away with a cheap and easy fix but that isn't going to happen. I'll let you all know what I find in case you run across something similar in the future.
