Battery Smoking

THIS MORNING I WENT OUT, PLUGED MY TRUCK IN FOR ABOUT A HOUR CAME OUT, STARTED THE TRUCK AND NOTICED THE POSITIVE ON THE BAT. WAS SMOKING {note truck was still pluged in} SO I SHUT IT DOWN UNPLUGED IT AND TURN THE KEY for the heater AND IT STARTED SMOKING AGAIN IT LOOKS LIKE ITS COMING FROM TWO BLACK WIRES THAT COME UP TO THE BAT.

sounds like your battery(s) may have a short in it,

put a meter on it and start it back up to see if it is charging (around 14V)...you want to make sure it is not over charging,

you can have the battery load tested and that will tell you if it is shot also.

I don't think it is a short. It sounds more like the connections are dirty or corroded causing high resistance and heat. Try dismantling the connections and clean them up. Let us know how it does.

You Guys Were Right I Took What I Could Apart The Two Black Wires I Was Talking About The Conn. Was Disinagrated What Was Left Wielded It Self Together, So I Started The Truck Everything Was Good, Every Time The Heating Cycle Would Go On I See It Glow But Once The Cycling Was Done It Stopped. I'll Clean It Better Later. Thanks For Responding So Fast!
