Performance Transmission Rebuild
Hi, I have a 1993 W350 auto with about 90k on it, and I plan on eventually making a 400ish horsepower truck out of it, but being 17 I can only do so much with the money I have. I am selling my dirtbike to get some cash, and the first thing I plan on building is the transmission. I was just wondering what parts I should look at, while also keeping cost as relative as possible. I am looking for a pretty sturdy low stall torque converter, which one? Also regarding shift kits, I want it to have a more aggressive shift, but remain a true auto, I'm not looking for a manual valve body. My intention is to get all of the parts together, then bring it to a shop to put together for me to try and save a little money, and my knowlege on the internals of a 518 is minimal. Also, what would be the average price to rebuild the transfer case? I also plan on doing the U-joints while its apart, but I have a solid idea of how expensive that should be. I know that the transfer case is most likely not necessery, but I am big on preventative maintnence so I belive that it would be a good thing to at least look at.
