Trading my 2nd gen for a 1st gen ??

Might be trading a guy my 94 p pump auto 4x4 cummins for his 93 4x4 with a 5 speed. What are the differences between these trucks? What are things to look for for the 1st gens? thanks- Andrew

Main diff is the 1st gens have the VE, The pPump is easier to make big power but if your not shooting for over 400 its no big deal, the VE produces more TQ per HP. Post some pics of the 2 and we will let you know if you should or not.

reliablitity is about the same for both trucks as far as the motor goes but the tranny for the first gen should be alot more reliable if you dont speed shift or lug it

I know it looks stupid I planned on puttin the back ones on, but they didn't clear and its been too cold here to paint em black. Was just going to repaint the whole rim again once I switched tires until I found this deal.

well in my experience the nv4500 shifts way beter i was able to catch gears faster, the get-a-rag is kinda hard to get in if your shifting kinda fast, as far as power havnt had a problem outa either one. besides a few toasted clutches!

the getrag isnt as good in some ways i would say. dont get me wrong they are a great tranny and i would rather have one over a nv4500 but if you like speed shifting the getrag is done for they dont like that a whole lot. the nv4500 you can upgrade the input shafts and stuff like that if you get into really big power the nv4500 is the way to go. but if your gonna stay under like 450hp the getrag is great
