Guess its possible I got a bad LP from NAPA, but i wana try bleeding it properly,

Any suggestions on how to easily turn the crank 90 degrees? the lift pump primer does nothing when in the wrong position on the shaft, and when I crank the engine over it always stops on the same spot.

Well i've been out there fooling with the truck and i just cracked the lines at the injectors and the third injector in was just bubbling and no fuel. so i gave it sum throttle and just kept bubbling and then now it wont go back to an idle.

PS I'm taking a break because i have an exhaust leak at the turbo so i'm getting exhaust in my face.

that is what i was also wondering because what you have going on is not so much a rough idle as a surging.

Found it. The fuel hose that leads into the lift pump had a small rip in it and it was pulling air into the system. So JFC idk if u checked that yet but that was my problem. now i'm onto fixing my exhaust leaks.

damn i just took a diesel shower, cracked all injectors a good half turn for 30 sec each, three times, and still runs like crap, I even turned the engine 90 degrees (ended up being more like 180, and bled the low pressure side before. I used channel locks to turn the main camshaft nut (only thing I had narrow enough to do it), what size is that nut so I can buy a wrench for it?

I wish I was on to fixing exhaust leaks

Sheff did you pressurize your tank to find the spot? and if so how?

that suck sheff, I will see if I got any cracks, i put some air pressure in my fuel tank, and didn't find any leaks, the only thing I found was air coming out at the top of the tank possible from the fuel return line, hard to tell

Yeah I only noticed it after i cracked the line at the injector and it was wet with fuel and i saw it bubbling. Use wd40 if you don't want to crack your injectors again

Or is that the rubber dust seal, a square o-ring that is cracked. Most of mine looked that way when I change my injectors. Look at the back of the injection pump where the lines come out for leaks. Check the bolts on the block.
