the cops around here arnt to bad about diesels i got pulled over for not having a licensse plate light out and he was asking me if i was putting exhaust on and if it dumped smoke im sure one day ill get ahold of an hole but really dont have any intention to just haze every one in sight just mainly for people who try to get in my bed or kiss my trailer hitch i shoulda worded the thread diffrently asking for more power,

ive got pod 40 hrs coming for now ill see how that goes if i need to go bigger and i do have gauges just not installed yet

what is the average heat suppose to run on them?

when you tune it you will see 650 to 900 on the road at hiway speeds. going up a onramp on a hot day with your foot all the way in you will be hitting 1400*. YOU CAN HIT TEMPS OVER 1250 FOR SHORT BLASTS. 1250 is the max sustained temp. there are some guys on here that have posted that they towed with their truck and no gauges. they said they really got in the throttle while towing and then after getting gauges they saw temp way up like 1400-1500. this leads some to believe 1250 is consevative. reguardless, 1250 is listed max sustained.

The non i/c pumps have just a little better delivery valves. A small amount more fuel at lower rpm's. ( So says KTA )

In theory the only way to smoke is to have more fuel and less air (boost). So you could mount a blowoff valve on the intake manifold to vent at 5 psi boost and that should smoke pretty good. Low boost + full throttle = Smoke + EGTS. So keep the boost as low as possible , which is kind of the opposite of tuning these trucks for performance.

All joking aside when I too was young (but stupidier) I used to put 2-3 quarts of new ATF each fill-up in the 2nd gen in my sig just for smoke, it worked ok. The only downside was very poor acceleration, hard starts, and overall low power. So I know what you mean when you want "smoke".
