when a diesel runs rich (black smoke) the EGT's go through the roof... if you're looking for a fast truck then put more air in the engine at the same time you're putting fuel in... that means less black smoke but way more power... nitrous works wonders on a diesel too... it's like a turbo in a bottle... because as it's injected it cools the air/fuel mix making it more dense, then as it's combusted it breaks down chemically and releases the oxygen and nitrogen into the burn... realistically the only way turning up your fuel pump really benefits the truck is if you're pumping more air in at the same time... so instead of trying to show everybody that you have a diesel by billowing out black smoke every time you take off... wouldn't it be much cooler to take off with little to no smoke and waste absolutely everything on the street??? then when someone asks how you did that without all the thick black soot you can school them too...

i agree with all of this. but he said he wanted smoke in a budget. if hes like me he aint got money for nitrous, even tho its on my to do list. but yes i would rather have speed than smoke. he'll eventually grow out of smoke and move on to performance such as sticks turbos and water/meth or nitrous injection...... seems like you can never have enough in your truck lol

yup, my buddy's 12v runs high 10's on fuel and 10.30-.40 on nitrous and is pretty much clean down the whole track... just a little smoke before it gets on the turbos.

smoking just to smoke = riceboy ghey

I dont belive in global warming. But I do belive in the little old lady that gets smoked out and then tells her political husband who puts laws into effect that hurt our sport...

A slightly over fueled truck will make more power then one that runs clean.

what kind of injectors? have you played with the full power screw? thats where most of your smoke comes in. and removing injectors is the hard part if you dont know how

The M&H pins are tits. You can get them straight from M&H in there section over on Diesel Bombers.

That will get you more power... And even SMOKE!!!!
