Edit your "signature" file with information about your truck. Is it an automatic? Guages? Mods?

This info can help us advise you about your truck and eliminate some useless replies.

Ok, updated sig.
Setting the lash helped a little, but the knock is still there. The only one that was set properly was #5 intake. The intake valves were all between .004" and .007" too loose, and the exhaust valves were between .005 and .010" loose.
I'll be pulling the injectors and getting them pop-tested next week.

Also, I developed a fuel leak from the pump yesterday. I'll have to pull the pump as well and re-seal it, I guess. When it's done, I'll see how it runs.

You can get a knocking sound if your input-shaft on your tranny is really loose.

Would that correlate to engine speed though? Also, I just changed the throwout bearing and didn't notice any excessive play in the input shaft. Is there a common problem with the pilot bearing or input shaft bearing or something? Thanks for the help.

your ksb switch holds pump timing way advanced untill warm up. if the noise just suddenly goes away like the flip of a switch its the ksb letting go.

It would correlate with engine speed. I know that the input shafts are a problem but that does not mean yours is weak. Did this noise appear after you did the throw-out bearing and does it get quieter when you press in the clutch?

In my experience a 'new' problem is often associated with the last repair I made.

Sometime a piece of broom handle can be placed on a part and you can use it as a stethascope to hear where a problem is happening.

Interesting...it does get quieter (but still barely audible) when the clutch pedal is pushed in. As far as the noise before I did the repair, I don't know, I bought the truck this way - the bearing had no balls left in it and squealed like a stuck pig if the clutch pedal was pushed even a little. Thanks!
