Having trouble with boost plumbing.

I have a couple gauges I got for my 92 12v. Doing the electrical and plumbing for my boost and EGT today. I am having some trouble with where I should actually install and how to install the boost lines. I have searched and read and searched and read some more and still cannot come up with a solid answer.

I have a 60psi, glowshift boost gauges. Came with hose a t-fitting and psi restriction end. Now it says to run it to a vacumm line with the T-fitting... Is this even possible on this truck, if it is what line should I use and if it's not, what is the easiest most accurate reading for this. What will i need to do this install and what do I need to purchase if I have to drill.

Thank you

On the drivers side of the engine there is a large black bracket that secures the throttle and tranny linkage. Behind this bracket there is a 1/8" NPT pipe plug in the side of the head. That is where you need to hook the line up at. I have a 1" hole in my bracket that made it easy to hook up the gauge but I cannot remember if that hole is in the bracket stock or if it was drilled for access to the plug.

I thought there was a picture in the tech section that showed the setup but I was wrong(or at least I didn't see it!)

Here is a link to some more discussion on this item (still no picture tho) You can drill and tap the air horn or use a banjo bolt at the base of the air horn as well.

Yeah I know this bracket. How do I access the NPT plug on the side of the head. I don't think I see this 1" hole that you have on yours. If I dont have this hole what should I do. Seems like a pain to take off that bracket and how far back the head is from the side of the motor makes for some difficult removing haha.

Can you line up on the plug and using a hole saw drill thru the bracket? It has been so long since I did this I cannot remember what I did.

Wait, you have the 5 speed tranny. Is that big bracket still used with that tranny?

Probably, but I don't have those tools at my disposal. Hmmm. On the thread you linked me, (on my truck) There should be an exposed 1/8 plug.

"On the side of the intake, on the motor there will be a 1/8 in pipe plug allen head i think, just use that. No drilling or tapping. If it's an auto truck you will need to drill an over sized hole to acess this port behind the throtle bracket."

"Mat the drill the mount is for non IC truck. On the IC truck that 1/8" pipe fitting is in the clear.

Moparman look under the air intake horn on the driver side of the engine. Dead center of the air intake horn is a 1/8" pipe plug facing the fender. Use that. "

Do these sound accurate?

Those are the ones. I looked at your sig and that was when I noticed that you had a manual transmission. That was when I asked if the BIG bracket was on your truck.

The truck was Automatic stock.

I think I found the plug though. I'm gonna take a picture of it and post it to see if it is correct.

See if this one helps. See the line going to the side of the head under the intake. It has some white teflon tape on the threads.

I just drilled and tapped a hole on the side if the air horn or intake manifold thats what i call it. Thats how i run my boost gauge. Watch when you go to drill a hole for you pyro. There is a divider in the middle of the exhaust manifold. I didnt know there was cause there wasnt one on my 24V. Ended up with a hole that i couldnt use so i had to stick a bolt down in it . Ended up running it on the down pipe which isnt really what i wanted to do.

I used the visible NTP bolt on the side of the head on the drivers side. Like the picture you posted Paccool.
I am maxing out the boost at like 10 psi... What is going on here?! I checked the line and there are no kinks that I could see... I am pretty sure this truck should make around 18 psi, correct me if I'm wrong.

What's going on!?
