Allison Transmission

I am working on my 90 model 5.9 to put in a 89 r3500 chevy dually. i am thinking of going with a allison at545 has anyone done this before. is there a adaptor plate or do you have to have one? what about the flywheel. my engine has still got the auto trans flywheel and plate on it can i use this? PLEASE HELP!!!!

Yes people have done it. There is one truck on here I know of that has one and there should be a thread about it somewhere. Did you try searching? I'm sure you'll get your questions answered. Here's the link to the thread should be helpfull. allison 545

B&M makes a Transfer Case bracket that can prevent cracks in the housing, Which are prone to happen to the Allison T-Case housing,
