Okay so I'm pulling the motor out of my 93 and I have two problems. First I have one bolt holding the transmission and motor together that I can not figure out how to get out. It is the bolt on the top passenger side near the exhaust manifold. Second problem is getting the torque converter bolts out. The truck is 4wd and I'm looking to only pull the motor nothing more. Please help me I would like to get this done fairly quick.
Torque converter bolts you access threw the sheet metal cover on the passenger side of the engine adapter. It is located right above the rubber plug that is for the barring tool hole.
A shallow well socket and a swivel attached to a long extension will get the other bolt.
The easyist way I'd say is just to pull the transmission and tcase too. If you remove the crossmember for the transmission you can tilt the motor back by lowering the transmission with a jack making the upper transmission bolts easy to get to
What I did for that bolt is put a boxed end wrench on it, then throw a strap around the wrench and pull on the strap. Came right out one I got it rigged up right. That bolt is definitely a pain though...
Dont want to pull the rest just the motor, it is not going back in the truck.
