Hey guys, Im going through my entire fuel system bc obviously something is screwed up. I took the tank out to get rid off all the old fuel and I found the fuel basket is completely rusted and not only that, the basket itself is literally full of rust and so is the tank. I looked around and cant find a factory replacement, is this a dealer only part? Im not looking to put in a bottom sump and I don't see the need to buy an aftermarket performance straw. Even if I did, that wont fix the problem of the basket assembly being rusted.
You prob mean car-part.com but id assume theyre all going to be in similar shape used. If that and the dealer are the only option then ill see about making a new one out of stainless so i dont have have that problem again.
Made a new one out of 304 stainless so itll last forever now. Flattened out the stock one for a pattern, and changed the screws out for stainless as well.
Thanks, It was a scrap piece I had, I believe 20 or 22 gauge. Stock piece looks like Swiss cheese but it may have been 18 or 20 gauge.
