Well, this is about the stop where I step off the train. If I **HAD** to make another assumption, I'd say possible ECM malfunction (???) This IS your 1992 we are talking about? The crank sensor is working because the charging system functions so........

You REALLY need to speak w/Philip. Its why I hired him to be the Tech Specialist. He loves this transmission / electrical scene. It sorta turns my stomach....sorry.

My speeedo is off 6 in BOTH my trucks, so that ain't it. As long as it reads something it is working. Gotta wonder if your OD solenoid isn't getting power or seeing the ground. No cruise either so maybe power related.

Philip, you by?

I have been adjusting my TPS and it seems that a tiny adjustment makes a huge difference in when it shifts into OD, but makes very little difference in voltage at idle which is about 0.8 - 0.9 VDC. So the secret seems to be "make a tiny adjustment, drive it, if you like it then leave it alone, if you don't like it then make another adjustment."

I moved your other question and assigned it to its own thread. Look for it under ".....Control Pin, Stuck?"

Yes. It does/will. Very sensitive. I USED to mess with it time to time. I no longer use the factory TPS but can remember the slightest turn of the adjustment bolt would net a large gain.

Another tip./ If the hole in which the head of the adjusting bolt ride in is worn out, then the adjustment will be tricky. It will be slopy to adjust and drive you batty.

Da switch is da best.

It goes when you want it to, it doesn't when you don't want it to; what's not to like?
