If you want more whistle remove the cone of silence.

The map on a HX40 is 45 PSI. They don't like to be barked or over boosted.

Its fun to watch some of the 2nd gen guy's here local when I drive by. They are kind of staring wondering how come my turbop whistles more than theirs at low RPMs.

I'm in the market for a turbo also(my h1c is toast). My rig is pretty close to yours with the exception of the W//M. How is the lag compared to the old turbo? What kind of boost/rpm numbers are you getting?
thanx

Mine didn't come with the "cone of silence", I woulda pitched it already anyway. I know not to bark em' and I don't plan on runnin more than 40psi so hopefully it'll last forever, or at least until I need something bigger.

The PDR 40' spools slower than my baby H1C-16 did, but I think its really close to how it spooled with the 18, maybe a little slower. I don't have a tack so the only boost comparison I can make is that during normal acceleration when I used to see about 10psi now I'm only seein about 5psi with the same acceleration.
I'm gonna play with the timing to see If I can get it to spool a little faster. It did bring the EGT'S down about 300 degrees at WOT, I am very happy with that.

I backed the timing off, so it's only at about a 1/8" and it lights a lot better now. The egt's did come up about 100 degrees, but that only puts me at 1300' so I'm still safe and sound. And that's with the W/M turned off.
