Does anybody know how many Horsepower can be made without turning the Fuel Screw. Adding injectors, gov springs, custom puel pins, all the afc mods, big turbos etc. I know most people add these things along with turning the fuel screw, but has anybody ever been built to the hilt without touching it?
I'm thinking you could do some pretty good power numbers...what is everybodys opinion. I know, everybodys gonna say why not turn it...

injector rating have nothing to do with the pump screw so if you get 80inj you get 80 hp, 140inj 140 hp I havent turned my screw up eithier i waiting for larger injectors, i ve read turning up the screw put more wear and tear on the inj pump
I figured 140 inj, fuel pin, and he 351cw would be near maxing out the Head gasket so why turn the screw up?? Of course the main reason for not turning it up is B/C i cant afford a suncoast/goerend TC and tranny hahha

you dont get the hp gain that they say on the box from injectors not how it works. but if you put bigger injectors in you can just get more out of them if your turn the screw in. im not saying you have to but why wouldnt you if it is free and your puting all that stuff on it anyway.

Things like fuel starvation, fuel overheating and fuel filtration significantly affect pump life too. AFC modifications will only cause the control collar to move under high-boost conditions, whereas the fuel screw will cause it to be moved farther at all times; this is why it raises idle speed. So it will drop pump life, because you're forcing it to make more pressure. With larger-than-stock injectors, the maximum pressure that the pumping element will see is going to be lower, and the pump will live longer. Yes, you can go to large injectors and all of the other pump modifications without ever touching the fuel screw, and doing so will get you maximum pump life. But provided you have a sufficient fuel and air supply, that power screw will always be smiling at you with a free 100+ horsepower.
