ive got a 93 intercooled auto truck ive only done a intake and turned fuel pin 90 degrees so far.
what would be the limit on the power for the trans(it only has 15000 miles on the tranny)

not much

I'd run the power screw in a turn or two and call it good untill you can do something w/ the tranny... as you throw more power at the stock converter, the truck doesn't get much quicker, it just puts a lot more heat in the fluid and nukes the tranny quicker

start with a good triple lock tourque converter and a shift. convert yours to a lock up you can do that with some switch conversion they make. thats a good start you can make it better thats just a start

That's not just a start, that's a whole transmission swap.

THIS JUST IN: The best way to make your Cummins faster is to replace it with a small block Chevy.

In general, people who consider power mods to be "turning in the smoke screw and turning the AFC cone" aren't likely to break things on a stock transmission unless they melt the thing.

yeah that is pretty much it but you could do input shafts and all that stuff but what i listed is all you would need for a good tranny

WOW! You can tell who's never been there.

I know this nut who's putting 450/825 to the ground through his A518 that's running increased clutch/steel counts and a better torque converter (non lock-up). Otherwise, it's the stock/OEM hardware.

1.75 ~ 1.8 second 60's at 6400lbs.

Begle's last statement is pretty-much dead-on though. If it were my truck, I'd get a better torque converter the very 1st thing. That'd be the best bang-for-the-buck as far as the trans goes.

I don't know about that. I know a guy with a 92 that ran a 13.79 on the stock a518.

sounds like a light single cab

I didn't say the wouldn't get quicker, I just said they wouldn't get a lot quicker

no need for billet shafts with a non-lockup converter IMO

TROGDOR!!! THE BURNINATOR!!!
Run that trans till it breaks and fix it up then. Go with Goerends. These are not some wuss honda trannys, they are huge, they have lots of over built parts, and I think it will suprise you what it will hold. Even when it breaks its not like the whole thing will explode. Might break a band, or shear off the input or something, that's when you take it out and build it exactly how you want it.
