First pump mods!

Fellas,
Just turned my smoke screw two full turns, rotated the fuel pin about 120* clockwise (I checked after I did this...now riding on deepest part for sure), and rotated star wheel 3/4 of one turn. Everything else is still stock. I have no guages, yet, and want to know if I'm safe, in your opinion, with these settings. How much further can I go? These lights mods really woke her up, and I'm only smoking a bit of haze under full throttle. Full power fuel adj. is tomorrow, and I'll readjust the smoke screw per the instructions after that. What does a 4" TBE exhaust cost? Cheaper to have one made locally at a muffler shop?

i would not advise going any past that......you need gauges for monotoring egt's and boost pressure. so dont go any farther than you have.

Did you do mods or did you do adjustments? Sounds like adjustments to me.

+1 on gauges, before something bad could happen.

what you did was make your truck run a little better in low boost conditions like around town. you are fine like this. like the other have said you need to get gauges. to get any real gain in power and to make heat you will need to give the fuel screw a few turns. get the gauges first.

If those injectors are high milage. I would back that fuel screw out one turn till you get gages.

I'm just over 130K with stock sticks. I haven't touched the fuel screw, but why would I need to back it off if I had high mileage injectors? As everybody has warned me, I'll get guages first. Smart.

4" turbo back exhaust from Stan's Headers, standard and custom high performance header designs for automotive and marine engines. is like $550 ...made for a 1st gen high quality exhaust.

i don't think any exhaust shop can beat that.

Boost/EGT pre-turbo mounted pyrometer are a wise choice for now.

High milage injectors usually have lower pop pressures from age and wear. Turning the fuel screw on a set of those worn injectors without gages could cause engine problems.
